Macey’s, Dan’s, Lin’s and Dick’s Market Sponsor Gluten-Free Expo

Local grocers Macey’s, Dan’s, Lin’s and Dick’s Market are sponsoring the 2011 Gluten-Free Expo at the Southtowne Exposition Center October 8, 2011 to help educate the public about celiac disease and the many gluten-free products carried in their stores.

“We understand that many of our guests have unique nutritional requirements,” said Dave Wirthlin, president of Macey’s, Dan’s, Lin’s, and Dick’s Market. “We cater to these shoppers and realize the role we play in providing wholesome, healthy alternatives to meet a wide variety of dietary needs.”

At the Expo, located at 9575 South State Street in Sandy, there will be a kids’ “sillyacts” corner, Utah’s first race for celiacs (a 5K) benefitting the Celiac Foundation and opportunities to sample gluten-free foods such as the those available at Macey’s, Dan’s, Lin’s and Dick’s Market so shoppers are aware of the many available options.

“We truly seek to offer value and expertise in each of our stores,” said Steve Reich, VP of marketing for Macey’s, Dan’s, Lin’s and Dick’s Market. “We consider ourselves to be part of the community and fun, educational events like this help us give back.”
