KV Mart Successfully Replaces Back Office Systems; Clemens Finds a Replacement
CARSON, Calif. -- KV Mart, an independent grocer based here, successfully completed the replacement of its existing back office systems yesterday with a new hosted back office system to run in all 23 of its stores.
The Melville, N.Y.-based back-office solutions provider BRdata worked with KV Mart to install its Retail BOSS as its host-based, back office system.
"BRdata has a robust host and store solution that fits the needs of KV Mart," said Greg Parry, v.p. of information systems at KV Mart. "They offer a user-friendly application that meets the requirements of today's independent grocer. The BRdata support team is also very helpful and quick to respond to our needs."
BRdata's software will deliver interoperability between KV Mart's headquarters and the existing Fujitsu ISS45 point-of-sale platform.
The system supports multiple zones and price levels along with several leading-edge applications that include DSD Receiving, Ad Planner, Competitive Price Tracking, and In-Store Back Office and Inventory. In keeping with its ability to deliver customized software solutions, BRdata will also work with KV Mart in developing a warehouse module.
KV Mart will also use BRdata's new Price Modeling Module to maintain better margin control and reduce the odds of applying discounts that cut too deeply into profits. Price modeling lets store administrators set pricing rules triggered by specified variables such as vendor allowances, target gross margins, etc., and apply them as pass-throughs globally or to specific stores.
In other BRdata news, Clemens Family Markets, a Kulpsville, Penn.-based chain of 23 stores, will implement BRdata's Host, Ad Planner, Price Modeling Module, Competitive Price Tracking Module, and ScaleLink Module applications at its retail headquarters, to communicate to Invatron's ePLUM; as well as BRdata's thin-client solutions and label and sign solutions for all its stores.
BRdata Retail BOSS and NCR ACS will be installed and maintained by a one-stop provider, C&L Retail Solutions of Bensalem, Penn. BRdata's close partnership with NCR assures tight integration between the two systems.
