Kroger Earmarks $70M for KY DC
The Kroger Co. plans to invest $70 million in a new logistics and distribution location in Boone County, Ky., that is expected to serve more than 1,000 store locations.
The project is anticipated to create 90 full-time jobs, according to The Lane Report.
Cincinnati-based Kroger is seeking state incentives to support the project, in the form of a tax rate reduction from the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority, Lane reported.
This project is reportedly one of the first significant capital investments for the grocer in the region, beyond a retail project, and is expected to create opportunities for additional investment and job creation in the future.
