Kroger Atlanta Chief Bruce Lucia Celebrates 40 Years

Bruce Lucia, president of The Kroger Co.’s Atlanta Division, is celebrating his 40th year of service with the Cincinnati-based grocery giant.

Lucia’s strong commitment to customers, associates and communities has aided in the division’s growth, the company reports; his leadership has provided shoppers with new and convenient locations, fuel centers, and products and services to enhance the shopping experience.

“I’m very proud to work for Kroger over the last 40 years,” Lucia said. “We have an outstanding team of associates in the Atlanta division, and I'm excited about our continuous growth opportunities.”

Lucia oversees more than 30,000 associates in 186 stores throughout Georgia, South Carolina and Eastern Alabama.

“We thank Mr. Lucia for his 40 years of service to the Kroger community,” said Glynn Jenkins, director of communications and public relations for Kroger’s Atlanta Division. “His expertise, knowledge, leadership and dedication to customers and our associates are unparalleled.”

Since joining Kroger in December 1975 as a clerk in Atlanta, Lucia has held a variety of leadership positions throughout the country, including Nashville, Michigan and Columbus retail divisions. He served as president of Kroger’s Michigan and Columbus, Ohio, divisions before returning to Atlanta in 2000 as division president.

Kroger’s Atlanta Division is one of the Southeast’s largest grocery chains.
