Kimberly-Clark Named Walmart's International Supplier of the Year

Kimberly-Clark Corp. has received Walmart’s 2009 International Supplier of the Year award.

The honor is conferred based on several key performance indicators that measure such variables as sales performance, inventory metrics and delivery rates. Dallas-based Kimberly-Clark was the only supplier to receive the recognition.

“This award recognizes the strategic alignment of our teams with Walmart around the world,” explained John Scholes, VP, Walmart international development at Kimberly-Clark. “This global award was earned for achieving business goals over a sustained period, and every country played their part. It was a real team effort.”

Scholes and Steve Jones, Kimberly-Clark’s Walmart international business manager, accepted the award on the company’s behalf.

This is the second award Kimberly-Clark has received from Bentonville, Ark.-based Walmart this year. Walmart Brazil presented Kimberly-Clark Brazil with the mega-retailer division’s Sustainability Award for providing it with a 100 percent recycled bath tissue under the top brand Neve Naturali.

Kimberly-Clark’s global brands include Kleenex, Scott, Huggies, Pull-Ups, Kotex and Depend.
