Judge to OK U.S. Ahold Class Action Settlement
AMSTERDAM -- A judge in Maryland is set to approve retail conglomerate Ahold's $1.1 billion class action settlement with shareholders after the company's profit overstatement scandal rocked the its finances, according to a published report.
In January the U.S. Maryland District Court preliminarily approved the agreement.
According to Ahold, the judge handling the case said during a hearing on Friday that he would sign the settlement.
