Judge Approves Payment of Fees for Winn-Dixie's Attorneys and Consultants
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A federal bankruptcy judge yesterday approved the payment of about $16 million in fees for attorneys and consultants working with Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. here in its quest to emerge from bankruptcy.
The majority of the latest round of fees comes from the final quarter of 2005.
Winn-Dixie filed a motion late last week asking a federal bankruptcy judge to give it another 70 days to file a reorganization plan.
If approved by U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Jerry Funk, Winn-Dixie would have until June 21 to file the plan. The new date would push its emergence from bankruptcy into the fall.
The judge will consider the request at a hearing on April 20.
