Joe Caputo & Sons Opens New Northbrook Location
Joe Caputo & Sons Fruit Market IGA, which operates three full-service IGA grocery stores in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, will open its fourth location Wednesday, May 14 at the former Dominick’s store in Northbrook, Ill. A grand-opening celebration will be held at the store at the beginning of June.
“Our new Northbrook store gives us the opportunity to bring our brand to a whole new customer base,” said President Nat Caputo. “We look forward to introducing Northbrook to the produce that my brother Vito handpicks daily from local purveyors, our personal service from employees who always have smiles on their faces, old-world Italian specialties in our bakery and prepared foods departments made from family recipes, and quality merchandise that’s always sold at the right price. Everything we do at Joe Caputo & Sons Fruit Market IGA comes from the heart, and we can’t wait to show that to our new Northbrook home.”
One of Four From Dominick's
The Northbrook location is one of four former Dominick’s stores purchased by Joe Caputo & Sons Fruit Market IGA in January of this year. Conversions to the Arlington Heights and Elk Grove Village locations are expected to be completed later this year. The Des Plaines location will be up and running by the end of the year, replacing the current Joe Caputo & Sons Fruit Market IGA Des Plaines location which will close at that time.
In addition to the full-service deli, bakery and expansive produce section, the 50,000-square-foot Northbrook store will offer a wide variety of ethnic foods to reflect the diverse tastes of the Northbrook customer base. These will include Kosher, Italian, Polish, Russian, German, Greek, Lithuanian, Hispanic and Asian foods. The store will also include a sit-down cafe featuring gelato and a wide beer and wine selection.
