Jimmy Wright Honored for Civic Contributions

Jimmy Wright, owner of Wright’s Market, was given the Spirit of Opelika award by the Opelika, Ala., Chamber of Commerce for his work on revitalizing two city neighborhoods.

“I always try to do my part,” Wright said upon accepting the award, according to local reports. “Thomas Jefferson said, ‘When there is something wrong, those who have the ability to do something about it have the responsibility to do something about it.’ This is our time, ladies and gentlemen.”

Wright also was honored with the Board of Directors Service Recognition.
