JDA to Acquire Manugistics

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. and ROCKVILLE, Md. -- Consolidation continues in the retail technology arena, as JDA Software Group Inc. said it plans to acquire Manugistics, a global supplier of synchronized supply chain and revenue management solutions, to create a vertically-focused solutions provider to the global demand chain of manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, and retailers.

Thoma Cressey Equity Partners an enterprise software investor with approximately $2 billion in equity under management, plans to invest $50 million in JDA Software in the form of convertible preferred stock.
