Jan Hommen Once Again Chairman of Ahold Supervisory Board

Jan Hommen has returned to his role as chairman of the supervisory board of Netherlands-based retail conglomerate Ahold after temporarily stepping down in June 2014. Hommen will chair the company's 2015 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on April 15.

Former VNU CEO Rob van den Bergh, Hommen's interim replacement on the board, will remain as chairman of the remuneration committee and as a member of the selection and appointment committee.

Hommen was appointed to the supervisory board in 2013 for a term that runs until 2017. He was previously vice chairman of the board and chairman of the audit committee from 2003 to 2007. Currently CEO of KPMG the Netherlands, Hommen is the former CEO of ING Group N.V., former CFO and vice chairman of the board of management of Royal Philips Electronics N.V., and former CFO of Aluminum Co. of America. He briefly left the Ahold board after his nomination to take the helm at KPMG.

Ahold's U.S. divisions are Giant Landover, Giant/Martin's, Stop & Shop Metro New York and Stop & Shop New England.
