Jacobs, Pahud Promoted at SpartanNash

SpartanNash has promoted its company treasurer, Bill Jacobs, to VP of treasury and corporate development, and Mike Pahud, CFO of its Caito Foods division, to COO of this operation.

A 24-year veteran of Grand Rapids, Mich.-based SpartanNash, Jacobs will be responsible for the treasury function, capital markets, credit and corporate insurance, and will support the ongoing merger and acquisition activities of SpartanNash. He will report directly to EVP and CFO Chris Meyers.

“Throughout his career at SpartanNash, Bill has been a key member of the finance team, and his contributions to the company’s bottom line have resulted in many efficiencies over the years,” Meyers said. “As we continue to seek out new opportunities, we look forward to the contributions Bill will make in his newly expanded role.”

Jacobs was also assistant treasurer from 2002 to 2005. During his time at SpartanNash, he has led multiple capital markets projects that supported the company’s growth strategy

Pahud joined Caito, SpartanNash’s recently acquired Indianapolis-based produce and fresh prepared foods division, in 2013.

In addition to his current responsibilities of managing finance and information technology, Pahud will assume responsibility for sales, procurement and operations. He will report directly to Bob Kirch, EVP of SpartanNash and president/CEO of Caito.

“Mike’s performance and commitment has been a tremendous asset in supporting Caito’s growth and performance improvement over the past several years,” Kirch said. “He also plays a key role as a member of the SpartanNash-Caito-BRT Integration Management Office. We look forward to the contributions Mike will make in his new role.”

During his time at Caito, Pahud has led multiple initiatives that were necessary to build sustainable platforms and systems and handle the company’s future growth.

SpartanNash’s core businesses include distributing grocery products to independent grocery retailers, national accounts, its corporate-owned retail stores and U.S. military commissaries. Caito Foods supplies fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh prepared foods and fresh floral products to grocers and foodservice distributors in 22 states.
