IRI Launches Quarterly Retail Newsletter
CHICAGO - Marketing research firm Information Resources, Inc. (IRI) yesterday said it has launched the inaugural edition of "IRI Retail MarketWatch," a quarterly benchmarking report that analyzes trends impacting the retail industry.
"The retail environment of the early 21st century is like nothing the CPG industry has ever seen," said Thom Blischok, president of the IRI Retail and Strategic Consulting Group. "With the industry evolving at lightning speed, retailers need market insights that are current, actionable, and quick-to-read."
IRI said the quarterly publication's aim is to offer insights on category growth, shifting channel dynamics, changing shopper priorities, and significant sales opportunities. The first issue includes articles on baby boomer opportunities, channel migration, category benchmarks, and shopping benchmarks.
As a companion to the quarterly, IRI also said it would introduce a new retail benchmarking service to help retailers compare their performance to the total United States.
