Ireland Grocery Group to Optimize Supply Chain With New Tech Solution

CORK, Ireland -- Ireland's largest grocery distributor, the Musgrave Group, today began to deploy supply chain management software to optimize its trading functions within the group and for its store back-office functions.

The company's decision to adopt the solution, called G.O.L.D., from Atlanta-based retail technology solution provider Aldata, is part of an overall group strategy to upgrade and develop the existing IT infrastructure in order to support future business growth.

"The flexibility and comprehensive nature of the G.O.L.D. base product will enable the Musgrave Group to implement the solution quickly and effectively," said Ken Byrne, Group IT director of the Musgrave Group. "The advanced features in Aldata's solution such as its economical web-based architecture and proven scalability will also ensure support for the future needs of our businesses."

Aldata G.O.L.D's software encompasses the entire retail value chain: store management systems, chain management, wholesale, and logistics. It consists of a series of modular software, and the different components can be taken into use in phases.
