Inmar Among Finalists for Green Supply Chain Award
Inmar, a Winston-Salem, N.C.-based provider of solutions that connect trading partners through consulting, software services and operations, has been named as a finalist for the Green Supply Chain Award to be presented at this year’s Supply Chain Distinction Awards North America.
The category recognizes those companies which have “demonstrated unparalleled performance in environmental supply chain planning and execution.”
“Profitability and sustainability are not mutually exclusive,” says David Mounts, CEO, Inmar. “With our One Touch Advantage program, pharmaceutical trading partners are able to not only improve efficiencies and maintain compliance, but also shrink costs while reducing their carbon footprint. That’s a ‘win-win’ for both program participants and the environment.”
Inmar’s award nomination focused on the company’s One Touch Advantage pharmaceutical returns program and the immediately measureable effect the program is having on sustainability throughout the pharmaceutical industry. The One Touch Advantage solution is an environmental sustainability best practice which creates additional value and reduces the carbon footprint for all pharmaceutical trading partners through the elimination of redundant touch-points. This collaborative approach employs single-site, one-count processing that reduces transportation of returned product, consolidates destruction, reduces repackaging requirements and facilitates recovery and recycling of product packaging.
The Supply Chain Distinction Awards North America 2011 will be presented December 6 in Dallas in conjunction with Ninth Annual Supply Chain Logistics Summit North America.
