Ingles Names New CEO/President

Jim Lanning has been named as the new CEO/president of Ingles Markets Inc. He will continue to work with and report to Ingles Markets' Chairman Robert P. Ingle II.

Having joined Ingles as a student in 1975, Lanning has been president of the regional grocery chain since 2003. In his new role, he will continue his leadership role within the company.

“Jim has shown outstanding leadership qualities as president for the past 13 years," noted Ingle, who will retain his present title, which he has held since 2004, and continue his day-to-day active operational role in the executive leadership of the company. "I am proud at this time to expand his role for the company’s future growth, flexibility and development.".

Asheville, N.C.-based Ingles operates 202 supermarkets in six southeastern states, as well as neighborhood shopping centers, most of which contain an Ingles supermarket, and a fluid-dairy facility that supplies Ingles supermarkets and unaffiliated customers.
