H-E-B Adopts Internal Comm System, Expands Delivery
H-E-B is partnering with one company to update internal communication with employees and expanding its relationship with another to widen the reach of its delivery service.
The grocer has installed Austin, Texas-based AlertMedia's notification technology to enhance and improve critical communications with employees. The system delivers an easy-to-use software platform that combines multichannel two-way messaging and 24/7 monitoring services to keep employees informed and safe. It enables organizations to interact with their audiences from any mobile device, consolidating unlimited communication channels – such as voice, text, e-mail, social media and Slack – into one simple user experience.
H-E-B is initially using the AlertMedia platform to communicate with employees at all locations about product recalls, severe weather, system and power outages, and more. The platform can filter information based on locations and departments.
Additionally, H-E-B has expanded its partnership with Birmingham, Ala.-based e-commerce service Shipt to deliver fresh foods and household essentials to Waco, Texas, residents from their local H-E-B stores. Via the Shipt app, members may shop a full selection of groceries, note any preferences, choose a one-hour delivery window and pay for their orders. Shipt connects members with a community of shoppers who hand-pick ordered products and deliver them as soon as one hour after the order is placed.
San Antonio-based H-E-B operates more than 370 stores in Texas and Mexico. It employs more than 86,000 associates in Texas, and 9,000 in Mexico.
