IGA to Activate Web Sites for All U.S. Supermarkets

CHICAGO - IGA said yesterday it has partnered with 50 Below, a Duluth, Minn.-based Web provider, to create a Web site for every IGA supermarket in the United States and the Caribbean.

On July 1 IGA will launch 1,203 IGA Supermarket Web sites, which will include such features as interactive mapping, driving directions, and easy-to-use customer contact forms.

Founded in 1997 with a vision of creating online solutions for manufacturers and small businesses, 50 Below offers Web site development, e-commerce, and online marketing programs to more than 21,700 companies throughout North America.

"IGA Supermarkets and their customers win," said Mike Rollo, e.v.p. of 50 Below. "This is the first step in offering all U.S. customers all the convenience they've come to expect from IGA supermarkets. And now it'll be online."

"In today's world of real-time communication, IGA feels it is fundamentally critical that each store be represented on the Web," said Bill Benzing, IGA e.v.p. and chief growth officer. "With this understanding, IGA has partnered with 50 below to assure every IGA store that presence."
