HR Leader Returns to Raley’s as SVP

Mark Foley has returned to regional independent Raley’s Family of Fine Stores as SVP, human resources and labor relations, to help define the company’s culture and values with the employees’ voice in mind.

“The business climate has challenged employers and employees in recent years,” said Mike Teel, Raley’s president and CEO. “Mark has a deep commitment to making the work experience better for our employees. And I am confident he will meet his personal promise.”

Foley served as a director-level human resources leader at Raley’s between 1995 and 2005. He was most recently EVP, human resources and chief people officer for 24 Hour Fitness, a national fitness company.

Raley’s is known for employees who deliver excellent service and a positive and personal experience to their customers. The move to bring accomplished leadership to human resources strategy is a statement that the company is investing in the nearly 12,000 employees across Raley’s stores.

“Over the next several weeks, I will be doing a lot of listening—travelling to our stores and talking personally with employees about their experience,” Foley said. “All employees play a critical role in our success and I am committed to making the workplace meaningful for them.”

West Sacramento, Calif.-based Raley's operates 119 stores in Northern California and Nevada under four banners: Raley’s Supermarkets, Bel Air Markets, Nob Hill Foods and Food Source.
