Hillphoenix Lauded for Green Refrigeration Excellence
Hillphoenix earned its 6th GreenChill Award for installing more environmentally-friendly refrigeration systems in the EPA-certified stores than any other manufacturer in the past year.
Sustainable refrigeration systems were installed by Hillphoenix in 95 GreenChill certified stores, according to the company, which said its commitment to advancing sustainable refrigeration dates back to the mid-1990s. Since that time, it has helped remove over 2.5 billion pounds of harmful emissions in the last two decades.
“[The award] reflects our commitment to collaborating with customers on the competitive and environmental advantages of investing in sustainable refrigeration systems,” said Eduardo Navarro, VP/GM of Hillphoenix Systems Division. Navarro accepted the award for the company at the FMI Energy & Store Development Conference in New Orleans.
The EPA's GreenChill Partnership works with about 11,000 supermarkets to decrease their environmental impact by moving to greener refrigeration technologies that reduce harmful emissions. This is the sixth time Hillphoenix has been recognized for its role in bringing more environmentally-friendly refrigeration to stores.
“The GreenChill program values the long-term partnership with Hillphoenix and applauds the company’s drive to transform commercial refrigeration systems toward protection of the ozone layer and the earth’s climate,” said Tom Land, manager of EPA’s GreenChill program.
Conyers, Ga.-based Hillphoenix designs and manufactures commercial refrigerated display cases and specialty products along with commercial and industrial refrigeration systems and integrated power distribution systems.
