Hillary Clinton to Address NACDS Total Store Expo
The National Association of Chain Drug Stores’ (NACDS) new Total Store Expo trade show, scheduled for Aug. 10-13 at Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas, will feature an address by former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, who will speak during the Business Program on the morning of Aug.12.
“Secretary Clinton will bring to the NACDS Total Store Expo first-hand insights on some of the most pressing issues facing the world and the nation today,” noted Steven C. Anderson, president and CEO of Arlington, Va.-based NACDS. “Her remarks will help to deliver on a core promise, that the NACDS Total Store Expo will bring together diverse leaders who can help participants forecast the operating environment and take action together in new and exciting ways.”
Clinton was the 67th Secretary of State from 2009 until 2013, after close to four decades in public service. Earlier, as First Lady and a U.S. senator from New York, she traveled to more than 80 countries to promote human rights, democracy and opportunities for women and girls. Clinton also strove to provide health care to millions of children, create jobs and opportunities, and aid first responders who risked their lives at Ground Zero. In her historic campaign for the U.S. presidency in 2008, Clinton won 18 million votes.
The NACDS Total Store Expo aims to maximize strategic dialogue among retailer and supplier personnel with wide-ranging responsibilities. Its approach is designed to identify new opportunities from the pharmacy, to every aisle of the store, to the supply chain to the implementation of technology. The end goal is to meet the needs of consumers and patients in new and dynamic ways through a truly broad approach to health and wellness.
The exhibit hall for the event is already 97 percent sold out, according to NACDS. Besides Clinton, author and business consultant Jim Collins is scheduled to be one of the speakers at the expo.
