Heineken USA Wishes Consumers ‘Noche Buena’
Heineken USA will introduce Noche Buena, a bock-styled lager brewed by Cerveceria Moctezuma, S.A. specifically for the fall/winter season. The limited-edition traditional Mexican beer will hit select U.S. markets in October.
According to the White Plains, N.Y.-based importer, Noche Buena is fairly dry to start with, followed by a thick mouth feel and subtle sweetness, blending fine malts and spicy Slovenia-grown Styrian hops. Beer fans will detect berry notes at the finish and a caramel toasted-malt aroma at the nose.
“We are very excited to be slowly expanding the availability Noche Buena, Mexico’s highest-regarded seasonal beer,” said Paul Smailes, senior brand director for Dos Equis at Heineken USA. “We're confident this fantastic beer, brewed in limited quantities, will be savored by those consumers looking for an exclusive winter seasonal.”
Noche Buena, Mexico’s top seasonal beer, will be available for purchase throughout Texas and Chicago at the beginning of October, arriving at Heineken USA’s distributors in mid- to late September.
The offering will enable Heineken USA to continue to reach consumers in search of high-quality seasonal brews. Sales of seasonal beer rose 13.2 percent in food, drug, convenience and major market liquor stores in 2010, the company noted, citing data from Schaumburg, Ill.-based Nielsen.
