HEB to Deploy Bill Payment Kiosks
HEB plans to deploy bill payment and financial services kiosks in 26 stores, enabling shoppers to make expedited bill payments on their wireless, utility, cable and other accounts, as well as to purchase prepaid products and services and reload prepaid debit cards.
These self-serve kiosks, provided by Burnaby, B.C.-based TIO Networks Corp., will be positioned adjacent to or nearby HEB Business Centers to complement the services the San Antonio-based grocer currently provides and to add access to bill payment capabilities currently not offered.
"With these kiosks, we hope to provide our customers with a convenient service that enhances their one-stop-shopping experience in our stores," said Winell Herron, HEB group VP of public affairs and diversity.
To pay bills using the kiosks, shoppers feed cash directly into the TIO terminal's note acceptor, and on select units can also use a debit card. Once the payment is accepted, TIO uses an Internet link to ensure timely posting of the payment. HEB customers can navigate through TIO applications in either English or Spanish and complete financial transactions by either printing or e-mailing their receipt to an e-mail address of their choice.
