Harveys Customers Vie to Meet Country Star

Harveys is offering shoppers the opportunity to meet 2013 Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year Luke Bryan during his fifth annual “Farm Tour” concert series in October.

Customers can enter the contest to meet Bryan and win VIP “Meet and Greet” tickets either at Harveys stores or online at Harveys' Facebook page. The concerts are slated to take place at eight locations in Bryan’s home state of Georgia, as well as venues in South Carolina, Alabama and Florida.

Noting that the Farm Tour provides college scholarships for local students, Lisa Overman, Harveys’ manager of marketing and advertising, said: “Supporting local schools is at the heart of what we do … so [it’s] a natural fit for us.”

Bryan came up with the idea for the tour as a way to give back to area farming communities by paying tribute to the American farmer and offering entertainment via outdoor shows. Proceeds from the concerts go to the Luke Bryan Farm Tour Scholarship. In 2012, eight scholarships were awarded to students from farming families attending college within the communities the tour visited. That year, 100,000 fans enjoyed the Farm Tour, doubling 2011’s attendance record.

Tickets for all tour dates are available in all Harveys stores and online.
