Harris Teeter’s Aaron Franklin Named 2015 Mango Retailer of the Year

The National Mango Board (NMB) has named Aaron Franklin, a category manager at Matthews, N.C.-based Harris Teeter, its 2015 Mango Retailer of the Year.

Franklin was selected among NMB's 2015 Mango Model Retailers, which include Deb Kreider, Paul Chiavacci and Tim Royer, of Ahold USA; John Savidan and Keith Tsuchiyama, of Bristol Farms; and Michael Vesely, of Jewel-Osco.

All of the retailers were recognized for their outstanding support of the mango industry and for their dedication in boosting the mango category within their stores.

“Retailers play an essential role in the mango industry by being supporters of our mission to increase fresh mango awareness and consumption in the U.S.,” noted Rachel Muñoz, director of marketing at NMB. “These four retailers truly embody enthusiasm and excitement when selling and promoting mangos. Having these partners that support the mango business with such motivation is truly an inspiration for retailers across the country.”

The honorees were revealed during the NMB's Annual Mango Industry Reception on Oct. 24, which was held during PMA's recent Fresh Summit Convention & Expo in Atlanta.
