Harris Teeter Taps UberRUSH Grocery Delivery

03/28/2016

Harris Teeter’s expresslane online shopping service, which enables shoppers to order groceries directly from a computer or mobile device and pick up the order at a store, has expanded to offer home delivery via UberRUSH.

The delivery option is currently being piloted at the Constitution Square Harris Teeter in Washington, D.C., and only available to shoppers within a 5-mile radius of the store.

Shoppers can log on to Harris Teeter’s mobile app, order their groceries, and at checkout select either “delivery” or “pick-up.” If the “delivery” option is chosen, an UberRUSH driver collects the order and brings it to the customer’s front door, with the customer receiving real-time updates of the grocery delivery process.

While all store items are available for delivery, during the pilot phase, delivery is available only to mobile users, while computer ordering is still an option for those who wish to pick up their orders at the store.

“UberRUSH delivery will help us reach our customers where they are by making the grocery shopping experience even more convenient,” said Danna Robinson, communication manager for Matthews, N.C.-based Harris Teeter, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cincinnati-based Kroger.
