Harris Teeter to Present 1st College Night

Harris Teeter will give University of Virginia (UVA) students 20 percent off their entire purchase during the Southeast grocer’s first-ever College Night in Charlottesville, Va. The discount will be offered Saturday, Feb. 18 from 9 p.m. to midnight, following the Virginia Cavaliers basketball game on the afternoon of the same day.

Customers with a valid UVA student ID and who have joined Harris Teeter’s UVA Student Rewards program will be eligible for the discount, which applies up to a $500 maximum order (after all coupons and VIC discounts are deducted) on purchases made during the time period mentioned above. The discount excludes tobacco, tickets, gift cards, money orders and wire transfers.

“Harris Teeter has been a part of the Charlottesville community for many years, and we offer exceptional savings to all of our shoppers who choose to join both our VIC and e-VIC loyalty programs,” noted Catherine Reuhl, communication manager for Matthews, N.C.-based Harris Teeter. “We also work closely with the University of Virginia to offer Cavs’ students additional discounts at our stores. During College Night, we hope to re-emphasize our commitment to the University students and put a bit of excitement back into the grocery-shopping experience.”

In addition to the discount, College Night, which will be held at Harris Teeter’s Barracks Road store on 975 Emmet Street in Charlottesville, will feature live entertainment and free samples. Students not already enrolled in the College Rewards program must visit Customer Service to sign up before the event to be eligible for the discount.
