MATTHEWS, N.C. – Harris Teeter, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Ruddick Corp. that operates in the six Southeast states, will be celebrating the grand opening of its new Fort Mill, S.C. store with a ribbon cutting Sept. 15.
Grand opening festivities will run throughout the weekend and will include a Taste of Teeter, in which guests will be provided with free product samples; a Harry the Dragon Hotdog Wagon; and an opportunity to meet Harlem Globetrotter Curly Neal, who will be on hand to sign autographs.
In related news, Harris Teeter also signed as the first retail tenant at Blakeney, a 270-acre multiuse community located in South Charlotte, N.C. and managed by Crosland, a Charlotte-based real estate company.
The chain plans to open a 48,000-square-foot store by early 2006 in the planned planned community. Zoned for up to 495,000 square feet, the development's retail component overall will include national and regional retailers, restaurants, and neighborhood shops and services.
