H-E-B, Shipt Expand Grocery Delivery to Corpus Christi

H-E-B has expanded its partnership with Birmingham, Ala.-based grocery delivery service Shipt to stores in the Corpus Christi area, with residents of Corpus Christi, Port Aransas, Taft, Odem and Mustang Island able to place orders starting Sept. 27.

With the app-based service, members may order groceries from San Antonio-based H-E-B through Shipt’s mobile app or desktop app, and enjoy $25 in free groceries if they sign up prior to launch date. Shipt members may shop a full selection of groceries, note any preferences, choose a one-hour delivery window and pay for their order. Delivery is always free on orders greater than $35, and memberships are available for a $99 annual fee.

Shipt connects members directly with shoppers who hand-pick and deliver ordered items as soon as one hour after the order is placed. Ahead of the launch, the service will build a network of more than 100 shoppers in the Corpus Christi area to shop and deliver orders.

Similar to H-E-B’s commitment to the communities it serves, Shipt will identify opportunities to work with organizations dedicated to addressing hunger relief throughout Corpus Christi and the surrounding areas.

San Antonio-based H-E-B operates more than 370 stores in Texas and Mexico, employing more than 96,000 partners.
