H-E-B Chooses New Enterprise System for Food Production Operations

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - H-E-B has selected Microsoft Axapta for Food & Beverage by Lincolnshire, Ill.-based Junction Solutions as its enterprise software solution. The chain will consolidate the legacy systems supporting its 11 manufacturing plants in Texas and Monterrey, Mexico into one integrated, multi-location, multilingual enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution.

H-E-B processes much of its own bread, dairy products, cookies and snacks, meat, and tortillas. Junction's Microsoft Axapta for Food & Beverage solution will provide the solid foundation needed to improve forecasting, inventory control, and production processes while facilitating compliance with critical food safety requirements for H-E-B's private label brands.

"We required a flexible, innovative technology solution that would allow us to improve our efficiency while streamlining processes across all of our various manufacturing facilities," said Bob McCullough, group v.p. of manufacturing at H-E-B, in a statement. "We wanted a solution that worked specifically for food processing and distribution needs, and after a thorough product evaluation of several industry-leading solutions, Microsoft Axapta for Food & Beverage by Junction Solutions was the clear winner."

"Leading companies like H-E-B need advanced information technology they can easily implement in their business, but also require industry-specific functionality," noted Junction Solutions president and c.e.o. Brian Carpizo.

Said Mark A. Jensen, general manager, Axapta, Microsoft Business Solutions: "By using Junction Solutions' Microsoft Axapta for Food and Beverage product to streamline their business processes, H-E-B will be able to spend more time focusing on improving their operations to ensure food safety and efficient manufacturing and distribution processes."
