Grocers Beta-test Empowered Water Generators to Reduce Perishable Shrinkage

LINDON, Utah - Electric Aquagenics Unlimited, Inc. (EAU), an innovator in developing products using water electrolysis that disinfect, sanitize, and clean surfaces and foods -- all without toxicity to the consumer or the environment -- said it will commence beta-testing of two production models of its Empowered Water generators in two prominent nationwide grocery store chains. Calls to find out which chains would be involved were not returned.

EAU is working on the project with KES Science and Technology (KES), its exclusive distributor within the grocery arena.

The grocery stores will beta test Empowered Water (electrolyzed oxidative water technology) for approximately a month in their produce and flower departments. The test is scheduled to begin within the next 30 days.

Studies conducted at the University of Georgia proved that Empowered Water is more effective than traditional chemical or pharmaceutically created products that contain high toxicity levels, achieving superior kill rates in a non-toxic and environmentally sound manner. Tests also proved the efficacy of Empowered Water for killing food borne pathogens on produce. In some cases, the fluid even extends the shelf life of produce by up to a week.

KES provides preservation products and services for produce, meat and floral to wholesale and retail grocery stores, cold storage warehouses and florists in the U.S. and worldwide.
