Giant-Carlisle Warns Against Phony Survey
Giant Food Stores is telling customers to beware a scam in which individuals who say they're Giant associates conducting a telephone survey request personal information, including name, address, age, buying habits, and Social Security number. If they agree to take part in the survey, customers are promised cash or a coupon for their next shopping visit that will be delivered to their homes.
These phone surveys are not being conducted by Giant, which said it doesn't perform surveys in this way. "Protecting the privacy and personal information of our customers is a top priority at Giant," the Carlisle, Pa.-based Ahold USA banner noted.
The grocer is investigating the reported incidents and cooperating with local law enforcement agencies. Customers who may have received such a call can go to their local store and speak with the store manager, Giant Food advised.
