FreshDirect Rolls Out Healthier Winter Meals
NEW YORK -- FreshDirect, the online fresh food manufacturing and delivery service, yesterday launched FreshDining and Stir-Fry Kits, created to provide customers with more healthful quick meal solutions.
FreshDining meals, fresh microwaveable lunches or dinners for one, are portion-controlled, low in fat, sodium-moderated and free of artificial flavors, hydrogenated oils, or preservatives, FreshDirect said. Made with seasonings and raw ingredients in innovative microwaveable "Dream Steam" packaging, FreshDining features a special steam valve to retain moisture and cook meals in three minutes.
The portable FreshDining packaging keeps food fresh for up to six days. The meals come in various restaurant-quality menu options and are made daily by FreshDirect chefs using top-quality meat, seafood, vegetables, and herbs. Selections range in price from $6.99 to $9.99.
The Stir-Fry Kits, which the company says are simple, ready-to-cook meals for two, are stir-fried in less than 10 minutes and contain under 500 calories per serving. Each Stir-Fry Kit contains separate containers for meat, poultry, seafood, or tofu; colorful quick-cooking vegetables; and sauce or seasoning. Top-quality items are chopped by FreshDirect chefs and delivered the next day, ensuring freshness.
