The Fresh Market Gets New Board Member

The Fresh Market Inc. has elected Michael D. Tucci to be a new member of its board of directors, effective immediately. Tucci has been president, retail division – North America of New York-based Coach Inc. since January 2003. In this role, he oversees all aspects of Coach’s direct retail businesses in the United States and Canada, including about 500 stores and its e-commerce operations. Before joining Coach, Tucci held senior executive positions at The Gap Inc., and Macy's Inc.

“Mike brings an extensive background in consumer goods, marketing and retail operations,” said Craig Carlock, president and CEO of Greensboro, N.C.-based specialty grocer. “With first-hand experience in specialty retail and a wealth of knowledge about delighting consumers with great products, he will be a superb addition.”

The Fresh Market operates 110 stores in 21 states in the Southeast, Midwest, Mid-Atlantic andNortheast.
