FreeBird Adds Gluten-Free and Whole Grain Products to Cooked Line
Fredericksburg, Pennsylvania-based FreeBird, a supplier of antibiotic-free chicken, is adding five products to its fully cooked, frozen, natural ingredient line.
Catering to consumer preferences, the line includes gluten-free and soy-free options, as well as the use of whole grain breading. Products include patties, nuggets, popcorn chicken and two flavors of wings. The recipes are made with antibiotic-free chicken and all-natural ingredients.
The FreeBird Nuggets and FreeBird Patties are made with breast meat and are gluten-free and soy-free. The Baked Popcorn Chicken is also made with breast meat and features a baked whole grain coating.
The two other new products are Barbeque Wings and Buffalo-Style Wings. These wings will replace wings that were previously offered, and feature a "saucier style," according to the company.
All have a suggested retail of $6.99 for a 12-ounce package. The new line also introduces FreeBird's use of 100 percent recycled packaging.
FreeBird chickens are humanely raised on family farms in Pennsylvania's Amish Country, on a proprietary recipe of pure sun-ripened corn and soybeans, completely free of all animal byproducts, according to the company. FreeBird Organic Chickens are free range, and FreeBird Antibiotic-free Chickens are free to roam inside the barns.
