Fred Meyer Nears Deal with WA Union
Fred Meyer Stores, a division of the Cincinnati-based Kroger Co. operating in the Pacific Northwest, has reached a tentative agreement with Teamsters Local 117 covering 360 associates working at the warehouse and distribution center in Puyallup, Wash.
“We are pleased to reach an agreement that will continue to provide our associates the best total compensation package in our industry in Washington,” said Michael Ellis, president of Fred Meyer Stores. “Our associates have remained focused on their work during this process, and I am grateful to them for the service they provide every day to our customers and our company.”
The Teamsters will schedule voting meetings with their membership for ratification.
Portland, Ore.-based Fred Meyer Stores operates 132 multidepartment stores offering food, apparel and general merchandise needs in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
