Former Sobeys' C.O.O. Dies
STELLARTON, N.S. -- James Skiffington "Skiff' Murchie, a former c.o.o. of Sobeys, Inc. here, died of cancer Thursday at his home in Oakville, Ont., according to a published report.
A 40-year veteran of the Canadian food industry, Murchie started out at Dominion Stores. He spent the last 20 years of his career at Sobeys.
Survivors include his wife, Greta; grown children Lesley Anne, Greta, Cameron, and William; and five grandchildren.
A private family service will be held in Oakville.
