Food Lion Serves Up ‘One Meal at a Time’
Food Lion has teamed with its MVP card-holding customers and its vendors on the Food Lion Feeds anti-hunger ‘One Meal at a Time’ campaign, running through March 7.
During the campaign, a customer using an MVP card when purchasing five participating items will save $1 instantly while triggering a donation of 11 meals to Feeding America and area food banks. Vendors taking part in the campaign include such household names as Campbell Soup Co., General Mills, Kellogg Co., Kraft Heinz, and Procter & Gamble
Food Lion Feeds intends to help provide more than 3 million meals through One Meal at a Time, in partnership with Feeding America and its network of 30 local food banks in the grocer’s operating area. The charitable organization’s long-term aim is to provide 500 million meals by the end of 2020; in support of this goal it has already donated more than 250 million meals through in-store campaigns like One Meal at a Time, its food rescue program, and local donations and volunteerism.
