Food Lion Joins Promotion of N.C. Products
SALISBURY, N.C. -- Food Lion, a regional chain and subsidiary of Brussels-based Delhaize Group, is once again supporting North Carolina farmers and food companies with its "Got To Be NC Products" promotional campaign July 11 through July 24. This is the second year that the chain has participated in the initiative.
The purpose of the campaign, which will take place at all 494 Food Lion stores in North Carolina, is to help build consumer awareness and loyalty to North Carolina products. During this two-week period, Food Lion will feature North Carolina products in its sales fliers and provide in-store samples of many North Carolina products. The retailer will also use special displays, shelf tags, and signs.
Also through July 24, Food Lion is providing a free, full-color brochure about North Carolina farmers and food companies. The brochure contains recipes and coupons for North Carolina products.
The effort is part of Food Lion's ongoing partnership with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and its "Goodness Grows in North Carolina" program.
"Food Lion is proud to partner with North Carolina farmers and food companies in this promotion, because the'Goodness Grows in North Carolina label means the product is of the highest quality," said Jim Corby, Food Lion's v.p. of produce merchandising, in a statement. "Certainly, agriculture is one of the top industries in North Carolina, and it generates billions of dollars for the state's economy."
