FMI Names Margaret Edgell Core VP of Industry Events
The Food Marketing Institute (FMI) has named Margaret Edgell Core VP of industry events.
Core will maintain responsibility for developing the breadth and depth of FMI Connect, the trade organization's annual industry event.
A 25-year industry veteran, Core most recently ran strategic sales initiatives at the National Apartment Association, during which she created a year-round sponsorship recognition program, NAA 360°.
Prior to that, Core worked at the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO) as managing director of sales and marketing for the BIO International Convention, and as VP, marketing and organizational development at the Consumer Electronics Association.
“Margaret brings the experience, enthusiasm and inspirational leadership we need to help FMI achieve the vision we have for ensuring our premier events become game-changing experiences for the food retail industry,” said FMI President and CEO Leslie G. Sarasin. “FMI members, staff and leadership look forward to Margaret’s guidance as together we help FMI Connect reach its potential as the pivotal industry event.”
Arlington, Va.-based FMI’s U.S. members operate nearly 40,000 retail food stores and 25,000 pharmacies, representing a combined annual sales volume of almost $770 billion.
