Flagstar Bank Opens Branches in Meijer Stores

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Flagstar Bank and Meijer Stores, based here, reached an agreement this week to open four Flagstar banking centers in Grand Rapids-area Meijer supercenters.

"We see this as a matchup of two outstanding organizations dedicated to providing value to customers and exceptional service," said Mark Hammond, president and c.e.o. of Troy, Mich.-based Flagstar Bank. "We're also excited about expanding our presence in Grand Rapids, which has been a great market for us."

"Meijer looks forward to partnering with Flagstar Bank," said Lynn Richardson, a Meijer real estate spokesperson. "A bank branch inside our store offers Meijer guests a wonderful convenience to expand on our one-stop-shopping experience. Flagstar offers a personal service level with their financial service representatives that exceeds a conventional teller interaction with a guest."

Hours for the banking centers will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Celebrating 70 years in the retail business, Meijer is a family-owned and -operated grocery and general merchandise retailer operating 159 stores throughout Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio. Flagstar Bancorp, which has $12.2 billion in total assets, is the second-largest banking institution headquartered in Michigan, operating 103 banking centers in Michigan and Indiana, and home loan centers across the United States.
