First Stew Leonard's Store in 7 Years Breaks Ground
NORWALK, Conn. -- Stew Leonard's here is breaking ground on its first new store in seven years, located at the Berlin Turnpike in Newington, Conn., the site of a former Caldor's.
The store is due to open early next year. Renovations are expected to cost $15 million.
Founder Stew Leonard Sr., president and c.e.o. Stew Leonard Jr., and Newington mayor Rodney B. Mortensen will each speak at the groundbreaking, which will also be attended by state government and town officials as well, Leonard family members, and employees of the company.
