Family Foods Celebrates 50 Years

Family Foods in Tipton, Iowa turns 50 this year, and to celebrate owner Mike Goetz is adding 6,000 square feet onto the 20,000-square-foot store. This is the store’s first remodel in 25 years.

“We try and offer a good quality product at a fair price and we try to do it with better service than the big stores,” Goetz said in a local news report. “I think that’s important, you can’t just be in town. In a small town, you have to be part of the community.”

The store has more than 20 employees who have worked for Family Foods for 10 years or more, all of whom focus on providing personalized customer service.

“When you own a small business, you have opportunities to build strong customer relationships,” Goetz added. “You can understand that customer ... and then you can offer a unique customer solution.”
