Fairway to Open Store in NYC’s Chelsea Neighborhood

Fairway Market will open a 26,500-square-foot store at 766 Sixth Avenue in the Chelsea section of Manhattan, on July 24. The store will be the seventh Fairway in the city and the 13th across the New York metropolitan area.

According to Charles Santoro, Fairway Market’s executive chairman, the location will provide more than 250 local jobs. “We continue to believe our growth prospects are outstanding and our geographic footprint provides us with a significant runway for continued growth in our own backyard,” he said.

In common with its sister stores, the Chelsea Fairway will carry a combination of traditional, organic and specialty foods, including daily-delivered produce, an extensive kosher selection, fresh seafood, custom-cut USDA prime meat, international cheeses and a deli counter.

As well as offering products at “great values,” the company is “eager to make an impact in the Chelsea community beyond just being a great grocer, but by being a great neighbor as well,” said Fairway Market CEO Herb Reutsch. “We are committed to helping organizations that make a difference here.”
