Stemilt Growers and the rest of the Washington state cherry industry are rolling out the first Rainier cherries of the 2009 season. In reference Stemilt’s new Rainier line at its Miller Street facility in Wenatchee, Wash., marketing director Roger Pepperl said that retailers can expect one of the finest Rainier crops in recent years. “The fruit is very clean, peaking on large sizes with extremely high sugar levels,” he said.
