Earthbound Farm Hosts Open House for N.J. Distribution Center

SAN JUAN BAUTISTA, Calif. -- Officials from Earthbound Farm today will be on hand to greet guests at formal open house festivities at its expanded forward distribution center in Cranbury, N.J.

With 32,000 sq. ft. of warehouse storage, the new facility, which features two off-temperature storage rooms, will dramatically enhance the company's ability to provide responsive service to East Coast customers while also expanding capacity to fill customers' supply gaps, so say company officials.

"The Cranbury facility allows us to maintain our commitment to customer service and to our mission of making the organic choice viable and profitable for our customers," said Charles Sweat, Earthbound Farm c.o.o. "We are constantly searching for opportunities to enhance service to our customers and will continue to do so as our success accrues."

For his part, Drew Goodman, president and co-founder of the company, said: "I'm excited to have our own facility on the East Coast. My wife, Myra, and I both grew up in New York, so the opening of our facility in Cranbury is something of a homecoming for us, as well as an important commitment to better serve our [regional] customers. We look forward to demonstrating how important they are to us."

Noting that the opening of the new distribution center demonstrates his company's commitment to support rapidly growing demand for organic produce in the Northeast, Goodman said it will also make it easier for customers to maintain successful organic programs.

Earthbound Farm is also proceeding with plans to open similar facilities in the Midwest, Southwest, and Southeast as well.
