E-Grocer SimonDelivers Gearing Up for Expansion

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. -- SimonDelivers, the Twin Cities' online-only grocery delivery service, is looking to expand operationally and regionally, and has hired a business consulting, systems integration, and managed services firm to provide applications management and hosting services.

The consultant, McLean, Va.-based BearingPoint, will manage SimonDelivers Web and SAP environments, which will include monitoring network connectivity for the online grocer's customers and performing basis type support for the SAP platform. In addition, the two companies have also signed an agreement, which will allow SimonDelivers to use a broad range of other BearingPoint services, ranging from strategic services to business consulting and systems integration.

"The resurgence of on-line grocery has prompted us to focus more on growth initiatives for the long-term," said Christopher Brown, SimonDelivers' c.e.o. "By collaborating with BearingPoint, we can now focus on new ways to enhance our relationship with our customers like our recently launched virtual shopping mall called SimonBucks and our newest logistics tool that helps us track deliveries in a real-time environment. These are two examples of initiatives that will help us continue building long-term relationships with our customers."
