Drug Chain Eckerd to Pilot Photo Gift Kiosks
WARWICK, R.I. -- Chain Drugstore Eckerd next week will pilot a new format of photo kiosk chain-wide that print personalized photo gifts, such as t-shirts, puzzles, and mugs.
The kiosks, developed by Surrey, England-based Pixology plc, a developer of software and networks for digital photography, will be available starting July 6. The service also allows customers to restore original color, black-and-white, or sepia photos that may have faded or been damaged over time. Once scanned, the images are electronically sent for restoration by trained technicians and returned to the customer on CD format.
All PhotoGift orders will be sent digitally via Pixology servers for fulfilment and available for collection in store within 10 days.
