Dorothy Lane Market Earns GreenChill Awards

Dorothy Lane Market, an independent, specialty grocer with three locations in Dayton, Ohio, has earned two 2015 Achievement Awards by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s GreenChill Partnership.

In addition to being lauded with Most Improved Emissions Rate, which is given to the company with the most improved emissions rate for commercial systems from the previous year, DLM also received a Superior Goal Achievement award, which recognizes companies that achieve their annual GreenChill refrigerant emissions reduction goal.

“Dorothy Lane Market is being recognized by EPA’s GreenChill program for accomplishing the greatest reductions in refrigerant emissions of any GreenChill partner when compared to the prior year,” says Tom Land, manager of EPA’s GreenChill program. “The GreenChill program commends Dorothy Lane Market for demonstrating a commitment to environmental protection through lowering the emissions of refrigerants that damage the ozone layer and the earth’s climate.”

GreenChill works closely with supermarkets to reduce environmentally harmful refrigerant emissions and decrease the impact on the ozone layer and climate change. For several years Dorothy Lane Markets has voluntarily worked with GreenChill to learn and adopt greener refrigeration technologies and environmental best practices.
