Dollar General Names John Garratt Interim CFO

Dollar General Corp. has named John W. Garratt, SVP of finance and strategy, as its interim CFO, effective July 1. The company said it will appoint a permanent CFO at a later date.

Garratt will oversee all aspects of the company’s financial, accounting and information technology operations.

Prior to joining Dollar General in 2014, Garratt held finance positions with Yum! Brands between May 2004 and October 2014, and held leadership positions in corporate strategy and financial planning.

“We are fortunate to have John serve as our interim CFO," said Todd J. Vasos, CEO for the Goodlettsville, Tenn.-based discount chain. "I look forward to continuing to work with him as we execute our new store growth.”

Dollar General Corp. operates more than 12,000 stores in 43 states.
